Designed on the train while chugging up to London for the Queen's Jubilee Celebration on the Thames (London) - hence the design called 'The Royal Wave'.
Ruth and Belinda were commissioned by The Campaign for Wool to design and make 24 cushions with the word ‘Wool’ spelt out in letter-form, in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee and to be displayed at the Queen’s Jubilee Thames Pageant on Blackfriars Bridge.
A shoulder hug in alpaca and silk (or alpaca and wool), the easy flow and ebb of this graceful lace stitch is uninterrupted by seams; as steady and comforting to knit as it is to wear.
Sway as you walk, keeps its shape; and simple simple, oh so simple to knit - it's all in the yos and the k2togs - just get into the groove on the needles... and add a sassy black velvet ribbon. Are you tempted?
Being bold enough to work at a very loose gauge is beneficial, what may seen like over cooked noodles on your needles will, after blocking, produce a light and airy fabric, so good for trapping air and warmth without bulk.
